Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Salgado.

Steven, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.

Since I was a kid, I saw the world very differently. I’ve seen its colors and felt its music. In my youth I wanted to be an artist, but I grew up in a poor neighborhood in Peru, where dreaming about living as an artist was unrealistic. It was in my adulthood where I decided to quit everything and follow my dreams.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?

I am a film director, storyteller, and stage actor. I do it because it is my way of communicating with the world to express who I am. I always want to send a message in my stories, in which human values, such as perseverance, effort, and goodness stands out.

How can artists connect with other artists?

If you want to be a filmmaker, there are a lot of art classes, workshops or school of arts available out there, but the best way is doing your art and showing it to the world. Nowadays, thanks to the internet we have many resources to show it.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?

My first feature film is streaming now on Amazon; Cinderella “The Enchanted Beginning.” It has been a low-budget movie made in Miami with lots of love. I invite everyone to watch and enjoy it.
