Peruvian actor and director living in Miami with more than ten years of experience
Awarded with a HOLA (Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors of New York) for “Best Ensemble Cast” by the play “The Orgy” (2017) and nominated to “best actor” by the “Dominican Commissioner of Culture of New York” for the same play.
Trained in the National School of Drama (Peru), Mime in The Society of Silence (Peru), Acting in Actors´s Arena (USA) and others acting workshops.
Performed in plays like “The Orgy” (New York 2017) “Midsummer night’s dream” (Miami 2017) “La Orgy” (Miami 2016) “The Truck Driver (Miami 2016) Our Town (Miami 2014) Cocktales (Miami 2013) produced by “The Cell New York Organization” and others important plays.
Steven had directed more than 10 shortfilms, his last shortfilm Tango Dreams (2016) obtained a Award of Commendation in Canada Shortfilm Festival 2017, won to Best Inspirational Short Film in 15 Minutes of Fame film Festival in Palm Bay, Florida and Best Audience Awards in FilmGate Miami 2016.
His experience as director begins when he directed “The failure of the Clown” (Peru 2008) a shortfilm filmed with limited equipment and budget, for his surprise the movie was screening in many art schools and cultural centers in Peru, Chile, French, United States and other countries, that experience motivates Steven to follow his dreams to become a film director.
In 2014, he get a grant to study Film Production at Miami Dade College in United States. He graduated in 2017 with an Associate of Arts Degree (A.A). At the moment, He is studying a Bachellor of Science Degree (B.S.) in film, television and digital production at Miami Dade College.
Actually, he is directing Chicos shortfilm in Miami and pre-producing The Last Flower shortfilm in Peru.
In 2015, Steven Salgado founded Dorado Arts and Culture Organization, a non-profit organization where he creates films, film festivals, web series, and donation projects for the global community.
